DDOT to Perform Milling and Paving Work on 14th Street NW 

(Washington DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will conduct milling and paving work on 14th Street NW between P Street NW  and R Street NW on Saturday, August 10 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Monday, August 12 through Wednesday, August 14, 2019 between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. 
 

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions and temporary bicycle lanes have been created for safe travel through the construction area. This milling and paving work is part of the 14th Street NW Streetscape Project.

 

All roadway users are urged to stay alert and to use caution when passing through this work zone.

Temporary Lane Closures Northbound 14th Street NW  Begin Today
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the northbound driving and parking lanes on 14th Street NW from Thomas Circle to Rhode Island Avenue NW beginning today, July 29 through Friday, August 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.  This temporary closure is necessary to safely repave the existing roadway for the 14th Street Streetscape Project.

 

DDOT will provide flaggers and signage to guide traffic around the work zone and maintain public safety. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.

Temporary Lane Closures on 14th Street NW
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the right lanes of traffic, southbound right lane switching to the northbound right lane, on 14th Street NW between Thomas Circle and N Street NW from December 26 through January 9, weather permitting.

 

These lane closures are necessary to complete the installation of bus islands as a part of the ongoing 14th Street NW Streetscape project. 

 

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to obey signage and stay alert when traveling through this area.

Night Work on 14th Street NW
Begin December 12

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on 14th Street NW between Thomas Circle and Florida Avenue NW from 9:00 pm until 5:00 am beginning on Wednesday, December 12, weather permitting.

 

These temporary lane closures are necessary to complete the installation of fire hydrants as a part of the ongoing 14th Street NW Streetscape project. This work is expected to last through April 2019 at different locations throughout the project area.

 

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to obey signage and stay alert when traveling through this area.

Traffic Pattern Changes and Lane Closures in Place on 14th Street NW
Construction expected to last through May 2019

(Washington, DC) -- The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises motorists to expect lane closures, parking restrictions and traffic pattern changes on 14th Street NW between Thomas Circle and Florida Avenue from now through May 2019.

All construction activity will take place from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday behind traffic barriers. Lane closures are expected to run from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Some Saturday and night work may be required. Work is expected to continue through May 2019, weather permitting.

Curbside parking may also be restricted while work is underway. Emergency No Parking signs will be posted a minimum of 72 hours before the start of construction. Sidewalk detours will also be in place while sidewalk repair is in progress. Signage and protective barriers will be used to maintain public safety.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when traveling through this area, to anticipate moderate delays and to obey construction personnel and signage.
